Serve

Scripture tells us in 1 Peter 4:11 "If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies; that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ" This is an invitation to use our God given ability to serve each other for the purpose of a greater purpose. Our school's DNA is the community coming together to make rich experiences and environments for children to thrive in.  Below are some practical areas that can make a big difference in students at Shiloh. Many of the areas below have flexible hours and days, so if find an area of interest, many times we can work together to find a time that works for both of us.

It Takes a Community

We believe each person has gifts and talents that are helpful in the community rising together. As we come together we can make a difference in the lives of children. It truly takes everyone doing their part so the "least of these" can have a firm foundation.

Tutoring

You may have advanced skill in a subject or just know more than a 3rd grader - either way, tutoring one on one or in a small group can make a big impact. Subject areas for tutoring needed are Reading, Math, Chemistry, and English.

Music

Music is an awesome way children explore with tactile touch, auditory processing, and kinesthetic learning. It becomes a great canvas for them to express themselves individually and together. Do you know instruments, or vocals enough to train a child or help another teacher? This may be the place for you.

Reading with a child

One of the greatest impact a volunteer can have is reading with a child. A child learns new vocabulary, how to pronounce words properly, sentence structure, voice inflection, reading comprehension and more. This is a special formative time that will help make a great foundation for years to come.  This is also a great place to start volunteering if you haven't volunteered before.

Trade Skill Project

Are you an electrician, plumber, painter, or carpet cleaner?  Some of these jobs require a higher level of skill and volunteers in these areas are a huge benefit to Shiloh!  If that is not you, maybe you know someone that would be able to do a one time volunteering project.

Get Involved!

If you have an idea of what you would like to help with, or if you have no idea, we may have a place for you!  Contact the office to find out about the volunteer opportunity at Shiloh that would be best for you. Thanks for doing your part to encourage this generation!
